Scenario DevelopmentClient Need Summary: Preparedness for anticipated and unanticipated events goes further than just a written document. The information that was developed needs to be validated to identify any loopholes in the assumptions. The development of an emergency scenario will allow the strategy to be exercised and evaluated for any gaps. Scenarios are generally developed to be used at table-top testing exercises. Approach: A scenario is generally developed in conjunction with our business partner to identify the most realistic situation that will stress the plan and include:
The Solution: The only way to validate emergency planning is to stress test it. The development of a scenario will allow you to submit the plan to the maximum stress and see if (where) it fails. A scenario is most often used in conjunction with a table top exercise where critical personnel can be brought together and their knowledge / preparedness evaluated. Don't wait for the "trial by fire".
